This list is my top 5 podcasts about business building and entrepreneurship for the creative person looking to make a great life doing what they love.
1. Akimbo by Seth Godin
Seth Godin is one of my all time favourite entrepreneurial thinkers. He came up with clever quotes like this one: “We need to make a better world, by making better things”
He has written a ton of books. You can easily read them all. Every time I get sucked down the rabbit hole of latest marketing tactics and frustrated about not getting the results people claim. All I have to do is read Seth, and he gets me zoomed out to the big perspective.
2. The Fizzle Show
First off when I listened to the Fizzle years ago, I wondered what the heck those people are doing. Seems like they are just cracking jokes half of the time.
For the past year or two I’ve listened to pretty much every episode. Good healthy conversations about trying to make a living doing something you care about…and I have come to enjoy when co-host Chase goes on some weird comedy impersonation tangent.
3. Online Marketing Made Easy by Amy Porterfield
It’s seems like American women are in the forefront of the online course and membership building trend. At least when it comes to creating learning products around your passion and interests.
One of them is Amy Porterfield. I’ve actually never bought any of her products. But I like her podcast and the guests she have on her show.
I don’t feel completely on the same wave length as her. To my male european ears the language is a little bit too “Desperate Housewives” I cringe a bit when the say “F-bombs” and “oh my gosh”. But she sounds like a nice person who want the best for her people. So I can live with the jargon.
There’s two other Podcasts kind of in the same category that I check in on once in a while as well. That’s Marie TV and Courage & Clarity
4. The Hustle & Flowchart Podcast by Matt Wolfe and Joe Fier
This podcast is highly tactical. Matt and Joe are experts en generating website traffic. In their podcast they usually explore how you can do what ever it is you are doing in your business cheaper and smarter.
The have some super cool guests on the show. I’ve learned a lot from just following those guys.
Once you have dialled in what you are selling, and how you can sell it with success, I’d say this podcast is a must when you want to scale up your marketing activities.
5. Magic Lessons with Elizabeth Gilbert
This podcast is from 2016 but well worth a listen. Elizabeth Gilbert is the author of the book Big Magic which is the number one book for everyone with even a hint of a crave to create.
After listening through the episodes of this podcast you will come out with a completely different mindset about how you find inspiration, the sources of your creativity and the mental barriers that might be holding you back even if you don’t know it.
Her was of thinking takes off a ton of pressure for the creative mind. If you haven’t read Big Magic. You should.
